The short version: Nurvo collects only what's needed to make the app work. We never sell your data. Your baby's information is private and stays that way. When AI features are used, we clearly tell you what's sent and to whom — and we always ask for your permission first.
1. Who We Are
Nurvo is developed and operated by November Angel Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). We're committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.

2. Information We Collect
We collect only what's necessary to provide the Nurvo service:
- Account information — When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier and optionally your name and email address.
- Baby logs — Feeding, sleep, and diaper entries you create, including timestamps and any details you provide.
- Voice input — When you use voice logging, your spoken words are captured by the microphone for the sole purpose of transcribing your baby care entries (e.g., "fed 120ml at 3pm" or "baby slept for 2 hours"). The transcribed text may be sent to an AI service to extract structured log data. Raw audio is not stored on our servers.
- Usage data — Basic app usage analytics to help us improve the experience (e.g., which features are used).
- Device information — Device type and iOS version for debugging and compatibility purposes.
3. Microphone Access
Nurvo requests access to your device's microphone exclusively for the voice logging feature. Here is exactly how it is used:
What it does: When you tap the microphone button, Nurvo listens to your spoken entry — for example, "diaper change at 10am, wet" or "breastfed left side for 15 minutes" — and converts your speech into a structured log entry.
What it does not do: The microphone is never active in the background. Audio is not recorded, stored, or used for any purpose other than transcribing your in-app voice entries.
You can revoke microphone access at any time in your iPhone/iPad Settings. If you prefer not to grant microphone access, all logging features remain available through manual text input.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Nurvo app
- Process and store your baby logs securely
- Generate daily summaries and insights within the app
- Respond to your support requests
- Send important updates about the service (not marketing)
We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties. Ever.
5. AI Features & Third-Party Data Sharing
Nurvo uses AI to help parse voice entries into structured log data. The AI feature is now mandatory for logging. In order to save any log, you must enable the AI feature.
What data is sent: The text transcription of your spoken voice entry (e.g., "fed formula 90ml, 2am"). No audio recordings, account details, or identifying information are included in the payload sent to the AI service.
Who it is sent to: OpenAI (api.openai.com). Transcribed text is processed by OpenAI's API solely to extract structured baby log data (type of event, quantity, timestamp).
How OpenAI handles your data: OpenAI's API data usage policies apply. As of the date of this policy, OpenAI does not use API-submitted data to train their models by default. You can review OpenAI's privacy policy at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
Enabling or disabling AI: You can manage the AI feature in the app under Profile > Privacy & AI. You must enable the AI feature to save logs. If you disable it, you will not be able to save new logs until it is enabled again.
If you choose to disable the AI feature, you will not be able to save new logs. Enabling the AI feature is required for all logging functionality in Nurvo.
6. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which is hosted on AWS infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.
Your baby's logs are associated with your account and are accessible only to you. We do not have access to or share individual user data.
7. Voice Data
When you use Nurvo's voice logging feature:
- Audio is transcribed in real-time using on-device speech recognition or secure API processing
- Raw audio recordings are not stored on our servers
- Transcribed text is processed by AI (OpenAI) to extract log data and then stored as structured records in your account
- Only the text transcription — not audio — is shared with OpenAI
8. Third-Party Services
Nurvo uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — Database and authentication infrastructure. Stores your account info and baby logs. Privacy Policy
- Apple Sign-In — Secure authentication governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Privacy Policy
- OpenAI — Natural language processing for voice log parsing. Receives transcribed text from voice entries only. Privacy Policy
Each service has their own privacy policies and data handling practices. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
9. Children's Privacy
Nurvo is designed for parents and caregivers, not for use by children. The app collects data about infants on behalf of their parents/guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all data we hold about you
- Export your baby logs at any time
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Correct any inaccurate information
- Withdraw consent for AI/third-party data processing at any time via Settings → Privacy

11. Data Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the Nurvo app (Settings → Delete Account). Upon deletion, all your data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Nurvo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
